The National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic has adopted amendments to its regulatory acts to broaden the list of contracts based on Islamic principles of banking and financing that can be used by supervised institutions. The changes allow banks, microfinance organisations and credit unions to apply a wider range of such contractual structures, provided they hold the relevant National Bank licence or certificate.
