The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) planted 200 trees around the Njedengwa Building area as part of Tanzania’s national Green Campaign and to mark the birthday of President Samia Suluhu Hassan. The event was led by Tanzania’s Insurance Commissioner, Dr. Baghayo Saqware, who also used the occasion to urge stronger mobilisation for Universal Health Insurance (Bima ya Afya kwa Wote). TIRA’s leadership and staff participated in the tree-planting, which the Commissioner linked to addressing climate change and improving the work and living environment, while emphasising the role of public institutions in demonstrating practical environmental stewardship. On Universal Health Insurance, he described the programme’s objective as ensuring all Tanzanians can access quality and reliable healthcare without financial barriers, and stated that TIRA will continue working with stakeholders to expand public education on insurance, particularly health insurance.
