Peru's Superintendencia del Mercado de Valores (SMV) published its latest monthly bulletin reporting that assets under management in mutual funds reached a historical high of USD 13.219 billion as of 31 January 2025. The bulletin shows the figure was 47% higher than at end-January 2024. The number of mutual fund participants rose to 424,091, up 21% year on year, while the number of operating mutual funds reached 226, seven more than a year earlier. On debt market financing, the SMV reported one registration of debt instruments totalling USD 93.7 million in January, up 100% versus January 2024, and three primary public offerings totalling USD 56.2 million, with demand 1.6 times the amount offered.
