The Bank of Namibia received the Alliance for Financial Inclusion’s 2026 Institutional Leadership Award for its contributions to financial inclusion policy, peer learning and knowledge exchange. Sesilia Nekwaya-Okafor, a principal economist at the bank, separately received the 2026 Technical Leadership Award for the Financial Inclusion Data and Impact Working Group. Nekwaya-Okafor serves as the working group’s co-chair and gender focal point lead. The awards were presented at the 2026 Alliance for Financial Inclusion Global Policy Forum in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, and build on the bank’s participation in the network since 2009.
