The State Bank of Vietnam reported that Governor Nguyen Thi Hong, accompanying Vietnam’s General Secretary To Lam on a state visit to Indonesia on 9–11 March 2025, signed a memorandum of understanding with Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo to strengthen bilateral cooperation in banking and facilitate banking activities between the two countries. The memorandum sets a framework for collaboration on monetary policy, macroprudential policy and financial stability, payment systems, and innovation and digital transformation in banking, delivered through policy dialogue, technical cooperation, capacity-building and information exchange. The update also noted that the State Bank of Vietnam and Bank Indonesia are co-chairing ASEAN’s Senior Level Committee on ASEAN Banking Integration and the 2024–2026 Task Force on Sustainable Finance. The Governor is expected to continue accompanying the Vietnamese delegation on a state visit to Singapore on 11–13 March 2025.
