The European Securities and Markets Authority appointed Carlos San Basilio of Spain’s National Securities Market Commission to its Management Board. He will replace Carlo Comporti, who will step down as a board member to become ESMA Chair from Nov. 1, 2026. The Board of Supervisors elected San Basilio at its Oct. 6 meeting. From Nov. 1, the Management Board will be chaired by Comporti and will include representatives from the national authorities of Spain, Germany, France, Malta, Slovakia and Finland, alongside ESMA and European Commission participants.
