The National Bank of Moldova reported on a bilateral meeting in Chișinău between Governor Anca Dragu and Bank of France Governor François Villeroy de Galhau, held alongside the international conference “New Technology for Old Markets”. The discussions focused on deepening bilateral cooperation to support reforms and to advance Moldova’s integration into the European financial architecture in the context of its European Union accession process. The engagement highlighted the National Bank of Moldova–Bank of France partnership as a channel to support modernisation and innovation in Moldova’s financial system. Villeroy de Galhau described his presence as a signal of support for Moldova’s European integration and noted Moldova’s launch of instant payments, accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), and efforts to harmonise legislation with European standards. The release also referenced a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions in Paris on 17 January 2025 and noted that Villeroy de Galhau’s 19–20 September 2025 official visit included a conference speech on the future of the European monetary system.
