The Central Bank of Peru published updated mortgage lending indicators showing that the outstanding balance of housing purchase loans grew 6.4% year on year in August 2025, up from 6.1% in July and the highest annual growth rate since March 2023. On a monthly basis, mortgage credit increased 0.7%. The expansion was driven mainly by mortgages denominated in soles, which rose 7.5% year on year in August (0.8% month on month). Total outstanding mortgage credit reached PEN 73,303 million in August (PEN 72,790 million in July), with PEN 68,566 million in soles. Dollar-denominated mortgages remained limited at 6.5% of the portfolio, with the remainder granted in soles.
