The Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority, Finanstilsynet, issued its annual decision on Solvency II reporting relief for 2026, covering exemptions from parts of quarterly reporting and item-by-item reporting. It decided that no life insurers or non-life insurers will be exempt from quarterly reporting in 2026. For item-by-item reporting in templates S.06.02, S.06.03, S.08.01 and S.11.01, nine life insurers must report in 2026 and two life insurers (Livsforsikringsselskapet Norli Pensjon Norge AS and Nordnet Livsforsikring AS) may apply for an exemption. In non-life insurance, 14 firms must report item-by-item, HELP Forsikring AS may apply for an exemption, and 33 non-life insurers are exempt from this reporting. Finanstilsynet also assessed whether Norwegian captive insurers meet the Solvency II criteria for exemptions from parts of annual reporting and concluded that none do so as at 31 December 2025; firms granted reporting relief must still be able to provide the information on request, and extraordinary reporting may be imposed where needed for solvency reasons. The deadline to apply for an exemption from item-by-item reporting for the three eligible firms is 20 February 2026.
