The Chile Financial Market Commission (CMF) published first-half 2025 statistics on motor vehicle repair times for claims covered by supervised general insurance companies, reporting an average of 55 days from claim filing to the vehicle being available for pickup, unchanged from the second half of 2024. The figures are submitted biannually under Circular Letter No. 2,236 and can be compared through the CMF’s website platform. In January–June 2025, 82,697 insured vehicles had accidents, up 2.5% from the prior half-year, within a total insured vehicle universe of 2,194,573 (a new high). The average time from claim filing to the vehicle entering a workshop was 31 days, higher than in the second half of 2024, while repair times varied across insurers and depended on damage severity. The reported service network comprised 4,488 insurer-workshop agreements, with 32.7% located in the Metropolitan Region, noting that one workshop may hold agreements with multiple insurers.
