Roberto E. Silva, president of the Argentina Securities Commission (CNV), spoke at the Pioneering Progress 2025 virtual assets event in San Salvador and said Argentina is moving forward with the definitive regulation of virtual asset service providers (PSAVs). He also held meetings with El Salvador’s National Commission of Digital Assets (CNAD) aimed at strengthening technical cooperation between the two regulators. Silva joined a panel on balancing innovation and compliance in digital-currency regulation alongside Tether’s Giles Dixon, Brazilian federal prosecutor Alexandre Serna and CNAD president Juan Carlos Reyes. Topics covered PSAV registration and rulemaking, regulation linked to innovation, stablecoins and digital currencies, and tokenisation of real-world assets. The CNV delegation met CNAD leadership at the regulator’s headquarters and took part in a closed-door session for regulators and innovators, building on an existing CNV–CNAD agreement intended to facilitate information exchange for the supervision and regulation of PSAV and digital-asset service providers.
