The entity has cloned the name and details of authorised firm Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland DAC and has been passing itself off as that firm to deceive consumers while offering purported Fixed Term Deposit Accounts. The Central Bank said the clone firm is not authorised to provide banking business in Ireland, including accepting deposits or other repayable funds from the public. It contacted consumers directly by phone, email and brochures, and the Central Bank stated there is no connection between the authorised firm and the unauthorised entity.
