The Chile Financial Market Commission (CMF) published the results of its call for proposals to modernize the capital market and outlined next steps to channel the input into a CMF Policy Document on Modernization of the Capital Market. The call, open from 17 December 2024 to 21 March 2025, generated 227 proposals from 45 participants across trade associations, experts, banks and other financial institutions. Submissions most frequently addressed capital market depth (107 proposals), followed by trading and market infrastructure platforms (48), financing for small-size businesses (36), promotion of savings (19) and corporate governance (17). The CMF will use the proposals to support bilateral meetings with market actors starting in April and will run workshops from June 2025 across the five priority topics.
