Estonia's Financial Supervision Authority has launched a new version of its testing sandbox to support financial innovation by giving companies a free environment to test new financial technology products and solutions in cooperation with the supervisor. The revamped sandbox is intended to be more user-friendly and more tightly focused on entities that fall under financial supervision, enabling more open and in-depth discussion on a product’s suitability for the financial sector and on solutions to technological challenges. Companies can access the sandbox by submitting an application form that sets out the options, goals and expected outcomes of the testing, and the sandbox is run by the authority’s Licensing and Innovation Department.
