Switzerland's Federal Department of Finance announced that, following a two-year pilot phase, the Financial Innovation Desk (FIND) established in 2023 will be transferred to the State Secretariat for International Finance (SIF) in an adapted form on 1 September 2025. The work will continue within SIF as a specialist Innovation Desk unit focused on supporting financial-sector innovation. FIND was set up in 2023 as a new government office administratively attached to SIF for an initial three-year period, following a Federal Council proposal in its 2022 report on digital finance to create an innovation platform to promote framework conditions and facilitate exchanges between the private sector and relevant authorities. The new SIF unit will retain established services and events including the FIND Map and the SwissHacks fintech hackathon, and parts of the FIND website will be integrated into SIF’s website; stakeholder networking will continue with representatives from public authorities, academia and the private sector under SIF leadership. The transfer and reconfiguration take effect on 1 September 2025.
