The Bank of Italy announced that its travelling outreach initiative “In viaggio con la Banca d’Italia” will stop in Arezzo on 14–15 May 2025, with public events designed to promote financial literacy, explain the central bank’s functions and engage directly with citizens, businesses and institutions. The programme opens on 14 May at 10:30 at the Borsa Merci Hall of the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce with “Scams in payments: how to recognise them, how to protect yourself”, bringing together representatives of the Bank of Italy, law enforcement and academia to examine digital payment fraud and share practical prevention tools as part of the national “Occhio alle truffe” campaign. Later on 14 May at 15:00, a roundtable at the Bishop’s Palace will focus on financial education as a lever for social inclusion, involving institutional representatives, local authorities, Caritas, the Prefecture, the Guardia di Finanza and the Bank of Italy. On 15 May, the Bank of Italy’s Arezzo branch will host an open day with educational workshops for young people and adults on the role of the central bank and its various activities.
