The Portuguese Securities Commission (CMVM) has launched a call for additional entities to participate in its Sandbox Market4Growth programme as it prepares a second edition. The initiative provides participating companies with a tailored assessment of their readiness to access capital markets, whether through venture capital funding or the stock market, and allows them to simulate the process of market entry and ongoing participation, including information provision and interaction with the CMVM. To support the diagnostic and simulation phases, the CMVM is seeking involvement from authorised financial intermediaries (including those that assist with public offerings, securities placement, and advisory on capital structure and industrial strategy, including mergers and acquisitions), law firms or lawyers with relevant securities offering or market access expertise, listing agents, financial analysts with experience evaluating listed companies, crowdfunding service providers, and corporate finance consultants (including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and business valuation specialists), as well as other entities able to contribute to capital markets revitalisation. Since the programme’s launch in November 2023, 26 companies have registered. Expressions of interest must be formalised with the CMVM by 30 June.
