The Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia joined the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, GNERC, the National Bank, the Communications Commission and the National Food Agency in organising the III International Consumer Protection Week in Batumi, combining public outreach with practical guidance on consumer rights and avenues for redress. Across 10–15 March, the programme ran information sessions and workshops in Tbilisi, Akhalkalaki, Zugdidi and Batumi with participation from regulators, members of the Parliament, central and regional government, international organisations, disability representative groups, and business, academic and civil society stakeholders. A panel discussion bringing together the six consumer protection authorities used a Q&A format to explain how stakeholders can protect their rights, where to apply in case of violations, and how complaints can be submitted.
