In an international webinar organized by the International Finance Corporation, the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan presented Azerbaijan’s open banking experience, including how the functionality was built, the results achieved and the prospects for moving toward open finance. The session positioned Azerbaijan’s rollout as having been implemented quickly, with all banks in the ecosystem joining the open banking platform and operating actively on it. The presentation covered the business and technical aspects of the open banking functionality, the solutions used and the regulatory framework supporting it. The central bank linked the level of bank participation to broader digital transformation and support for open banking among regulators and market participants. More than 170 representatives from different countries attended the webinar, where Azerbaijan’s cooperation model and practical approach were discussed and supporting methodological and presentation materials were shared with participants.
