The Central Bank of Peru published updated labour market statistics showing national formal employment grew 4.4% in July 2025 compared with the same month a year earlier, marking sixteen consecutive months of expansion. The increase corresponded to 259,000 new formal jobs. Private sector formal jobs rose 5.9% year on year, with the largest net job creation recorded in agriculture (86,000), services (72,000) and commerce (27,000). Based on electronic payroll data, private formal employment reached 4.410 million jobs versus 4.166 million a year earlier, with additional gains across fishing (2,000), mining (7,000), manufacturing (10,000), electricity (1,000) and construction (16,000).
