The State Bank of Pakistan has published a draft Business Conduct and Fair Treatment of Consumers Regulatory Framework for public consultation, proposing a set of principles and rule-based instructions to strengthen consumer protection and fair treatment of consumers across the financial sector in Pakistan. The draft framework is intended to promote responsible business conduct, accountability and fairness, and to ensure customers are treated with respect, fairness and transparency in all interactions with financial institutions operating in Pakistan. Feedback is to be submitted using the form made available on the State Bank of Pakistan’s website. The consultation is open until 30 September 2025, with the responses intended to inform finalisation of the framework.
