The Reserve Bank of New Zealand announced that Finance Minister Nicola Willis has appointed Rebecca Williams as an internal member of the Monetary Policy Committee on the recommendation of the bank’s board. Williams, the bank’s senior manager of economics, will serve from Oct. 15, 2026, to Oct. 14, 2027. The appointment fills a seat vacant since March 2025 and supports continuity following Karen Silk’s departure. Williams joined the bank in 2010 and has experience in monetary policy analysis and forecasting, including advising the committee on the economic outlook and policy settings. She will participate in the Monetary Policy Review scheduled for Oct. 28, 2026.
