The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), together with the Institute of Economics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (IE-UFRJ), hosted a seminar titled “Dilemmas of financial inclusion and education”, concluding SUSEP’s events programme for the 12th National Financial Education Week (Semana ENEF). The session targeted undergraduate students and the wider public and was held in a hybrid format, with in-person participation at IE-UFRJ and an online broadcast. Opening remarks were delivered by IE-UFRJ director Carlos Frederico Leão Rocha and SUSEP director Júlia Lins. The agenda featured presentations on the limits of financial inclusion, risks faced by consumers and household indebtedness in Brazil, with contributions from Luiz Macahyba, Thereza Reis and Paula Sarno; the recording was made available via IE-UFRJ’s YouTube channel. Semana ENEF runs until 18 May with events hosted by multiple institutions nationwide.
