The United Arab Emirates' National Anti-Money Laundering and Combating Financing of Terrorism and Financing of Illegal Organisations Committee hosted Kazakhstan's Financial Monitoring Agency for high-level meetings on bilateral cooperation, joint initiatives and emerging financial crime risks. The discussions covered national approaches to anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing, including threats involving virtual assets. The UAE delegation presented its updated National Risk Assessment, Virtual Asset Risk Assessment and 2024-2027 national strategy. It also outlined AML TRACK, a secure government network for monitoring anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing activities, and the National Statistics Platform for improving data collection, accuracy and access. The two sides also discussed public-private information sharing and exchanged detection practices during a meeting at the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit.
