The Albania Financial Services Authority reported that the Parliament of Albania has approved the appointment of Adela Xhemali as a member of the Authority’s Board, with a mandate to serve as Executive General Director. She takes over from the outgoing Executive General Director, Mimoza Kaçi. At the formal presentation ceremony at the Authority, the chair of the parliamentary Committee for Economy, Employment and Finance highlighted the importance of effective leadership in the context of Albania’s European integration process, including aligning non-bank financial market supervision with European Union legislation and strengthening transparency and institutional credibility. Xhemali outlined priorities focused on European integration, technological development and innovation, stronger transparency, enhanced supervisory standards and consumer protection.
