The Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency of Türkiye issued a circular granting temporary relief in the capital adequacy own-funds calculation for listed insurers, reinsurers and pension companies. Treasury shares acquired through share buybacks on Borsa Istanbul A.S.’s Equity Market between 17 March 2025 and 31 December 2025 will not be treated as a deduction item in the equity calculation used for capital adequacy. The circular relies on the discretion in Article 4(6) of the Regulation on the Capital Adequacy and Assessment of Insurance and Reinsurance and Pension Companies to create an exception to the deduction treatment under Article 4(5). It enters into force on publication.

Türkiye's Insurance and Private Pension Regulation and Supervision Agency issued a circular granting temporary relief in capital adequacy calculations for listed insurers, reinsurers, and pension companies. Treasury shares acquired through share buybacks on Borsa Istanbul A.S.’s Equity Market from 17 March 2025 to 31 December 2025 will not be deducted from equity. This exception is based on Article 4(6) of the relevant regulation and is effective immediately.
