The U.S. House Committee on Financial Services announced its September 2026 agenda, including hearings on economic growth, the international financial system, community bank capital access, prudential regulation and the future of central banking, as well as a markup of various measures. The committee will hold an economic growth hearing on Sept. 2 and receive the Treasury secretary’s annual testimony on the international financial system on Sept. 15, followed by the markup on Sept. 16. A Financial Institutions Subcommittee field hearing on the Main Street Capital Access Act is scheduled for Sept. 18 in Richmond, Kentucky. On Sept. 23, the full committee will conduct oversight of prudential regulators, and the Task Force on Monetary Policy, Treasury Market Resilience, and Economic Prosperity will examine the future of central banking.
