The Reserve Bank of Australia reported that official reserve assets increased to AUD 106.65 billion at the end of July 2026, from AUD 102.52 billion in June. In US dollar terms, reserves rose to USD 74.98 billion from USD 70.42 billion. Foreign exchange holdings drove the increase, rising by AUD 6.12 billion to AUD 65.69 billion. Special Drawing Rights declined to AUD 19.15 billion, while gold holdings fell to AUD 14.71 billion. Changes in reserve values reflect foreign exchange transactions, earnings on foreign securities and valuation effects from asset prices and exchange rates.
