The State Bank of Vietnam published an update on the launch of the Ting Ting Day 2025 Cashless Day festival in Ho Chi Minh City, a national-scale event series aimed at expanding non-cash payments, supporting consumption and advancing digital transformation. The opening was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and State Bank of Vietnam Deputy Governor Pham Tien Dung, and was positioned as a key activity in the final year of the 2021–2025 national programme on non-cash payment development. Co-organised by Tuoi Tre newspaper, the SBV's Payment Department, Banking Times and the National Payment Corporation of Vietnam (NAPAS), the festival showcased new banking and payment-intermediary technologies for the public, including fintech applications such as MoMo and international card organisations. A companion seminar, “Cashless payments: a driver of digital economy growth”, brought together around 300 participants from central ministries, economists, bank CEOs, fintech firms and international payment intermediaries, and the programme coincided with Ho Chi Minh City’s “Shopping Season 2025” promotion campaign, involving more than 10,000 businesses and nearly 80,000 promotions, with the city expecting retail sales and service revenues during the period to rise by at least 18%.
