The Central Bank of Egypt reported that remittances from Egyptians working abroad reached a record USD 36.5 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2024/2025, an increase of 66.2% from around USD 21.9 billion in FY 2023/2024. Remittances in the final quarter of FY 2024/2025 (April to June 2025) rose 34.2% year on year to around USD 10.0 billion, up from about USD 7.5 billion in April to June 2024. On a monthly basis, June recorded the highest level ever, with remittances up 40.7% year on year to around USD 3.6 billion compared with about USD 2.6 billion in June 2024.
