The flash estimate is issued for the last month but one, with more detailed monthly balance of payments information available via the central bank’s website. The quarterly balance of payments is compiled from a combined system of representative primary data sources, including company surveys, while the monthly estimate is based on a considerably smaller database. Although the monthly compilation uses as much data as possible for the reported month, including administrative sources and international payments reporting, the central bank notes that it remains subjective and is therefore presented as an estimate; monthly figures are adjusted once the quarterly balance of payments are released. The Central Bank of Estonia will publish the balance of payments for the fourth quarter of 2025 on 11 March 2026.
