The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Natalia Díez Riggin as Senior Advisor and Director of the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs, confirming her in the role after she served as Acting Director since joining the agency in January. She will lead the SEC’s congressional and intergovernmental engagement as the Commission’s primary liaison to Congress, other federal agencies, and state governments. Riggin previously served as a senior professional staff member on the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs for Chairman Tim Scott, and held roles including deputy legislative director for Senator John Kennedy, staff director for the Economic Policy Subcommittee of the Senate Banking Committee, and policy aide to Senators Mike Enzi and Mark Kirk. She holds a B.A. in political science and history from the University of Illinois Chicago.
