The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), in collaboration with the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM), held the one-day Samvad 2026 symposium in Mumbai under the theme “Sustained Capital Formation”, bringing together regulators, policy makers, academics, industry leaders, market infrastructure institutions and investors. SEBI also used the event to unveil the full report of the “Investor Survey 2025”, undertaken with the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE), BSE, National Securities Depository (NSDL) and Central Depository Services (India) (CDSL). The symposium was supported by NSE, BSE, NSDL and CDSL, and featured remarks by SEBI Chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey, keynote remarks from BlackRock’s Samara Cohen, and participation by NITI Aayog member Arvind Virmani. Sessions included a fireside chat on “India as a Magnet for Long-Term Global Capital” and panels on purpose-driven capital, going public challenges for startups and small and medium enterprises, and measuring impact in investor education amid technological transformation; the event was broadcast live and proceedings are to be archived on SEBI’s website.
