The Securities and Exchange Regulator of Cambodia co-chaired the ASEAN Working Committee on Capital Market Development meeting with the Monetary Authority of Singapore to review progress across key ASEAN capital market development workstreams and align 2025 priorities with the ASEAN Economic Community Strategic Plan 2026-2030. The session was facilitated by the ASEAN Secretariat and hosted in Penang by Malaysia’s Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank of Malaysia. Discussions covered the Sustainable Finance Working Group and Infrastructure Finance Working Group, the ASEAN Bond Market Development Scorecard and Risk Monitoring Template, and progress on the ASEAN Sustainable Finance Support Hub. Participants also received updates on the Asia GX Consortium, heard presentations on exploring currency de-risking mechanisms and Project Revive, and reviewed the committee’s work progress to be reported to the ASEAN Finance and Central Bank Deputies Meeting Working Group and the ASEAN Senior Level Committee. Attendees included committee members from 10 countries, the ASEAN Secretariat, Sustainable Finance Institute Asia, Bank Negara Malaysia, and Timor-Leste as an observer.
