The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP), through its Internal Affairs Office, published a normative instruction governing the management of disciplinary administrative proceedings (Processos Administrativos Disciplinares, PAD) within the agency, aiming to increase transparency, effectiveness and legal certainty in its correctional activity. The instruction is intended to improve SUSEP’s PAD-related processes and to complement rules already provided for in existing legislation, in line with guidance from the Office of the Comptroller General (CGU). PADs are used to investigate the responsibility of public servants for disciplinary infractions committed in the exercise of their duties or linked to the position they hold, and the new framework aligns SUSEP’s approach with the CGU’s role as the central body of the Federal Executive Branch’s Correction System.
