At a press conference, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Economy and Finance and the State Assay Supervision Inspectorate provided an update on regulation and oversight of the precious metals, precious stones and jewelry sector. Licensing and permitting processes have been fully digitized, with related public services delivered electronically without human intervention. As of Sept. 1, 2026, 2,911 entities operated in the sector. The inspectorate conducted 1,169 preventive compliance activities during the 2026 reporting period, compared with 1,500 in 2024 and 1,679 in 2025, alongside seminars and guidance for businesses. Oversight measures also include video surveillance in service delivery and the use of modern technical tools for inspections.
