The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan reported that Deputy Chair Gulbahor Naziri participated in the 24–25 November 2025 “Global Dialogue on Women’s Leadership and Gender-Inclusive Finance” roundtable and a closed session on sustainability and inclusive green finance in Luxembourg. In her remarks, she set out how Tajikistan is pursuing a green economy agenda and how the central bank is incorporating climate considerations into financial regulation and supervision. The update linked green economy development to national strategic documents, including the 2023–2037 Green Economy Development Strategy, the Nationally Determined Contributions and the National Adaptation Plan. It also listed institutional measures taken by the central bank, including adopting an action plan to implement the green economy strategy, establishing a green finance working group, developing guidance for green financial products, and signing a memorandum of understanding with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development on managing environmental, social and climate risks, alongside participation in NGFS, the Sustainable Banking and Finance Network and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion. On the sidelines, Naziri held meetings with Luxembourg’s finance minister Gilles Roth, AFI’s Executive Director Alfred Hannig and representatives of AFI member central banks, covering bilateral cooperation and engagement with development partners to support implementation of Tajikistan’s 2022–2026 National Financial Inclusion Strategy.
