The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission announced that Acting Chairman Mark T. Uyeda has appointed Natalia Díez Riggin as Senior Advisor and Acting Director of the Office of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs. Riggin joined the SEC from the U.S. Senate Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs, where she served as a Senior Professional Staff Member for Chairman Tim Scott. Her prior roles included Deputy Legislative Director for U.S. Senator John Kennedy and Staff Director for the Economic Policy Subcommittee of the Senate Banking Committee, as well as earlier policy aide positions for U.S. Senators Mike Enzi and Mark Kirk. Uyeda said her expertise will help guide the SEC’s efforts on capital formation and reducing ineffective regulation that could impede companies.
