Uganda Capital Markets Authority published an update on its participation in a two-day town hall engagement in Masindi, held with the Bank of Uganda to strengthen public education and raise awareness of investment opportunities in Uganda’s capital markets. The sessions focused on how capital markets can support wealth creation and economic development, and introduced participants to products including shares, unit trusts and bonds. The engagement brought together members of the public, local business leaders and other stakeholders. Capital Markets Authority officials also explained how businesses can raise capital through stock exchange listings and other financing avenues within the capital markets ecosystem, while emphasizing informed investing and long-term wealth creation through regulated capital markets products. The authority framed the event as part of its investor education and public awareness work as it marks 30 years of developing and regulating Uganda’s capital markets industry.
