The Brazilian Superintendence of Private Insurance (SUSEP) announced that directors Julia Normande Lins and Carlos Queiroz participated in ITC Vegas 2025 in Las Vegas, appearing in the ITC Latam programme and joining a panel on how Brazil’s insurance regulatory approach is enabling innovation. The session discussed how the Brazilian regulator has been rewriting rules and setting a more innovation-oriented approach to insurance regulation. The directors highlighted initiatives including the Regulatory Sandbox and Open Insurance (OPIN), linking SUSEP’s reforms to greater competition and wider access to insurance in Brazil, and discussed the regulator’s role in actively following market and technological change, including an emphasis on inclusive innovation and consumer outcomes. ITC Vegas 2025 runs from 14 to 16 October and is described as bringing together more than 9,000 participants from multiple countries to exchange experiences and debate innovation and regulation in the insurance market.
