The Chile Financial Market Commission has suspended all public tenders, transactions and share quotations for funds managed by Sartor AGF, which is currently under liquidation. The suspension will apply for 30 days or until Sartor is able to correctly value its funds’ equity. The measure follows an Essential Fact submitted by Sartor’s liquidator indicating that certain managed-fund portfolios may have significant impairments in estimated valuations made by the firm’s previous management, which have not yet been quantified. The Commission noted that, given this disclosure, investors and the market lack accurate, sufficient and timely information to support proper valuation of Sartor-managed funds, and it therefore suspended the shares of the affected funds registered with the Santiago Stock Exchange.
