Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) launched a youth sports festival focused on non-banking financial literacy at the Gezira Youth Development Center and across a number of youth centers nationwide, with broad in-person and online participation. The initiative, organised with Egypt’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, aims to strengthen financial awareness among children and young people about non-banking financial activities and services and support financial inclusion. More than 200 young participants attended in person, alongside online participation from multiple governorates. FRA Assistant Chairman Mohamed Abdel Aziz delivered an awareness session covering the concept and role of non-banking financial activities, the distinction between banking and non-banking sectors, and an overview of Egypt’s capital markets, insurance, microfinance, mortgage finance, financial leasing, factoring, and consumer finance, alongside guidance on safe and responsible use and the risks of dealing with unlicensed entities. The festival also included a theatre performance and sports activities, with attendance from senior officials from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the FRA.
