The UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism published an update on the Economic Integration Committee’s review of measures to strengthen oversight of essential commodity prices. The committee examined work on an integrated, transparent framework for tracking and analyzing price movements and called for continued market monitoring and proactive measures to address risks to supply chains, product availability and market stability. The committee also discussed commercial company governance and efforts to strengthen the competitiveness of the legislative framework for combating money laundering and terrorist financing. It reviewed the regulation of financial leasing by legal persons outside the supervision of the Central Bank of the UAE, focusing on its role in helping small and medium-sized enterprises obtain equipment, diversify funding sources and support industrial, logistics, health and technology activities.
