The Mauritius Financial Services Commission has issued Guidance Notes on the Responsible Use of Artificial Intelligence in financial services, aimed at setting expectations for how FSC licensees use AI. The guidance is effective from 19 September 2025. The document provides general guidance and urges licensees to incorporate its provisions in a manner proportionate to the nature, scale and complexity of their activities, as well as their operating environment and risk profile. The FSC indicated it will continue monitoring local and international AI developments and will update its regulatory guidance and parameters as needed to address benefits and risks arising from AI use by licensees.
