The Trinidad and Tobago Securities and Exchange Commission (TTSEC) announced a month-long National Investor Education Month programme for May 2025 under the theme "Investing in Knowledge. Investing in Community", combining in-person outreach and media content to improve public understanding of securities investing and the regulator’s role. The initiative coincides with the TTSEC’s 28th anniversary since its establishment on 2 May 1997 and is framed as part of its investor protection mandate under the Securities Act, 2012. Activities begin on 2 May 2025 with an investor education outreach session at East Gates Mall in Trincity (11:00–17:00), followed by school visits and targeted sessions for a large trade union and two non-governmental organisations. A community outreach roadshow event is scheduled for 28 May 2025 at the Victor E. Bruce Financial Complex in Tobago, with presentations from the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange Limited, and several industry associations. Daily radio and social media content will run throughout May, including practical investing tips and scam-prevention advice, alongside promotion of the TTSEC’s investor protection app for complaints and scam reporting.
