The Bulgarian National Bank has opened its annual competition for 2026 scholarship recipients, offering support for master’s and doctoral studies over a nine-month period. The programme provides two scholarships of BGN 750 (EUR 383.47) per month for full-time students pursuing a master’s degree and one scholarship of BGN 1,000 (EUR 511.29) per month for doctoral candidates. Applications must be submitted by 15 December 2025, with the Bank’s website setting out eligibility requirements, required documents and submission methods. The scholarships were established by the BNB Governing Council in 2004, and the Bank reports 530 applicants and 45 scholarships awarded since the programme began.
