The Thailand Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) ran a hybrid “OIC Cyber Awareness 2026” training course on cybersecurity and personal data protection awareness to raise organisation-wide cyber vigilance and prepare staff to respond to evolving threats amid AI-driven digital transformation. Held on 13 February in a hybrid format (online and on-site at the OIC’s High-Level Insurance Academy building), the programme targeted the Information Security Management System (ISMS) working group and other relevant staff. Training content covered recent online-crime losses of more than THB 95 billion over the past year and the most common scam types (fraud involving purchases of goods or services 60%, prize-transfer scams 17%, and part-time job scams 11%), the use of false base stations and SIMBOX to deliver scam SMS messages outside normal network filtering, a money-laundering case study (Operation SKYFALL) involving Huione Pay and USDT and fake investment apps (including Ulela Max and ASP Net), and the use of “human in the loop” checks to mitigate AI deepfake risks.
