CDP has signed an addendum to its 2022 memorandum of understanding with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, expanding their cooperation on environmental disclosure to support implementation of the HKMA Sustainable Finance Action Agenda and strengthen the flow of comparable environmental data into Hong Kong’s financial system. Work to date, coordinated through the Green and Sustainable Finance Cross-Agency Steering Group, has embedded CDP’s disclosure questions into the Climate and Environmental Risk Questionnaire for non-listed companies and small and medium-sized enterprises, providing a standardized mechanism for disclosure among the roughly 98% of Hong Kong companies that are non-listed or SMEs. The expanded scope aims to facilitate disclosure by SMEs, banks and other participants, with a focus on increasing the availability and usability of high-quality environmental data for financial decision-making.
