Norway's Department of Finance has appointed Wenche Agerup, Tove Andersen and Stig Helberg as new members of Norges Bank’s Executive Board for four-year terms starting 16 May 2026, as Arne Hyttnes, Kristine Ryssdal and Nina Udnes Tronstad leave the board. The Executive Board comprises the Governor, two Deputy Governors and six external members, with two additional employee-elected members participating in the handling of administrative matters. It is responsible for the governance and operations of Norges Bank, except for matters assigned under the central bank legislation to the Committee for Monetary Policy and Financial Stability, and it oversees tasks delegated to the bank including management of the Government Pension Fund Global and the provision of banking services to the state. From 16 May 2026, the board will be chaired by Governor Ida Wolden Bache, with Deputy Governor Pål Longva as deputy chair and Deputy Governor Øystein Børsum, alongside external members Hans Aasnæs, Wenche Agerup, Tove Andersen, Thomas Ekeli, Ragnhild Janbu Fresvik and Stig Helberg.

The Norwegian Department of Finance has appointed Wenche Agerup, Tove Andersen and Stig Helberg as new external members of Norges Bank’s Executive Board for four-year terms from 16 May 2026, replacing Arne Hyttnes, Kristine Ryssdal and Nina Udnes Tronstad. From that date, the board will be chaired by Governor Ida Wolden Bache with Deputy Governor Pål Longva as deputy chair, and will oversee Norges Bank’s governance and operations, including management of the Government Pension Fund Global and banking services to the state.
