The Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority, through its Lake Zone Office, conducted a dedicated insurance training session for more than 150 driving students at the VETA college in Mwanza, focusing on the practical importance of insurance for new drivers entering passenger and freight transport and on how to verify motor insurance digitally to reduce fake cover. The session covered the main types of appropriate motor insurance, how to choose suitable cover based on vehicle type and use, and the correct process for submitting insurance claims after an accident or other risk event. Participants were also taught simple digital methods for verifying motor insurance, which the authority expects will strengthen insurance discipline and awareness among drivers and support improved road safety.
